Being
successful in all aspects of your life means effort, commitment, endurance, and
other skills that we can develop and master if we are willing to improve. Some
of these skills are difficult to identify and work on them, the good thing
about those skills is that most of them will help us to gain confidence and be
accountable in our future job positions.
A top performer is someone self-driven, capable,
accountable, and interested in getting the results a company, business, or team
needs. These people have strong planning skills and take responsibility for all
their actions. As students, we must thrive to top perform and own our education
to achieve our educational goals.
One of the common skills that managers identify in
top-performer employees is effective planning and its principles: discipline,
proactivity, and balance; usually, when one of these principles is lacking, the others
suffer 1 (Stone M., 2014,
Chapter 11).
It might sound hard to become a top performer, but
effective planning plays a key role; it is important to take a pause and
identify opportunity areas, create a learning plan, set realistic goals, and be
confident enough to say when need it.
If you would like to become a top performer at school
but you feel that you lack some of the skills, be patient, take a break
and remember that in order to get a good balance you cannot commit to too many
things, you have to know your limits 2 (Alphie 2022, minute 4:32);
work on them, schedule and organize your time accordingly.
In my case, planning my week ahead and scheduling my activities, duties, and assignments since Sunday nights has been extremely helpful in achieving my goals not only in education but also in other aspects of my life.

Hi Priscilla,
ReplyDeleteWe share the same habit about planning our week ahead at Sunday nights. An arranged schedule really helps me a lot. Thanks for your sharing.
Hi Priscilla,
ReplyDeleteI agree with the balancing of our tasks, and I love the phrase by Coco Chanel you chose. Also, I can understand the reading and video well by your organized blog post. Thank you for sharing your post.
